Initial Exposure

What is this? Perhaps the result of a bizarre compunction to document and/or share everything I do? Maybe a loosely-connected collection of useful insights and amusing ramblings? For now, a newsletter/blog of sorts, where I share my experiences, insights, and findings in the maker, embedded electronics, and adjacent worlds. And in addition to “exposing” techniques, hardware, communities, and events, I’ll be providing unfettered meta-detail along the way – not just how-tos, reviews, and event coverage, but also behind-the-scenes looks at many of the steps along the way.

This extends to fundamental infrastructure, like exploring and evaluating newsletter/blogging platforms. You’re reading this on beehiiv, but I’m simultaneously publishing it on Patreon, Ghost, Buttondown, and Substack in order to gauge comparative performance and effectiveness, and I’ll be sharing my findings from this journey as well.

I’m excited to explore beehiiv because I’ve used it for other newsletters and it seems to be evolving rapidly, but why not try another platform right now to see how you like it:
